Personal note /detailed application:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a 39 year-old female. I am presenting my credentials for vacant positions in Europe specifically in the fields of project and programme management, innovation management, business development and/or business incubation support fields for your further consideration.

My career goals are driven by the desire to transform lives in society especially through scaling innovative ideas, goods and services that create impact. As such, I consider that my work experience and education background has prepared me well for my career ambitions.

I am currently employed at a research and development organization based in Kenya which is implementing a Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) funded regional bioscience innovation programme across six (6) countries in Eastern Africa namely: Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. I have served in this position since 2016 and my responsibilities entail provision of overall leadership, guidance and expertise to support regional project teams under the programme to transition innovative technologies to the marketplace.

I have close to 4 years' experience managing and administering clean energy funded projects implemented a Renewable Energy Business Incubator in East Africa. The projects which were funded by NCF (Nordic Climate Facility), Norad (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation) and FK Norway were implemented in close collaboration with The Royal Norwegian Society for Development, an international civil society organization.
As manager of the business incubator between 2014 and 2016, my responsibilities and duties focused on not only managing the operational activities but also providing expert support to enterprises to commercialize renewable energy innovations.

The experiences in the above-mentioned positions have greatly enhanced my skills and capabilities in implementing innovation projects that encompass approaches to commercialize innovative ideas. I have acquired a deeper understanding of the importance of engaging with the last mile user in the innovation value chain.

I have also worked with the private sector mainly in the renewable energy field in East Africa for close to six (6) years. I currently serve as a member of the board of directors on one of the private companies and I give oversight and guidance to the management of the organization.

I am excellent at working in teams as well as independently and I have great affinity for results. At my current position, I am a team player working with six (6) colleagues and interacting with over 90 implementing partners. I am familiar with business incubation, acceleration, project development, planning and budgeting processes including innovation management. I am also flexible to work with a wide range of experts in different fields.

My educational background and exposure as an MBA student enabled me to work and perform well in multicultural and diverse environments. I also gained skills in transformational leadership, coaching, strategic planning, business plan development, analysis and critical thinking. In addition, my bachelor's degree training in Civil engineering tremendously enhanced my technical capabilities and has facilitated my analytical skills.

I envisage that applying my skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications in a European context will enable me to advance my career significantly and contribute to transforming lives globally. In that line, I am looking forward to receiving expressions of interest for job opportunities and vacant positions.

Thank you.
