Project Royal Ahold is a retail giant operating across North America to Europe. This project deals with the USA Operations of Royal Ahold. They have close to 800 Stores across the east coast of USA. It is a Maintenance/Enhancement/Support project.

Coupon System is the repositary for the attributes and products that in-store POS systems need to make coupons work. Existing system is in Mainframe. This project was to port the system over to salesforce.com. New coupon information is received daily from Demandtec as CSV files and loaded to the new system. A batch process compares the existing coupons with the new data and performs necessary updates, deletes and inserts and a log updated of the activity. Reports are produced and transmitted over to users. Processes setup for daily backups and emergency reloads. On a weekly basis data is sent to warehouses for further analytics.

Coupon feed is received daily from Demandtec which is an Oracle based application that business uses to create/update/delete coupons. In addition there are Customer Interactive Control System (CICS) Screens available as part of the Coupon legacy that allow for the maintenance of the coupons. This system also carries a set of product information and receives the data from IMS DB extracts on a daily basis.There is also a feed from POG (planogram) for demote coupons. Maintenance to stores is sent daily and weekly. The system also supports for auditing the instore system for product and coupon conflicts.
