Personal note /detailed application:

My background as in engineer is in the field of audio and music. I have a PhD in that field from the University of California, San Diego. However, the computational tools for representing, analyzing, and processing brain waves are the same as those for sound waves. Since my expertise is such, I have been working for the past two years as a an engineer and software developer at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience at UCSD. Recently, Alex Svojanovsky offered me a position as a software developer at his company Brain Products (which develops and manufactures equipment for measuring brain waves). I have a firm letter of commitment that they will give me a contract for indefinite employment and I have agreed that I will accept it. I am also visiting the German consulate in Los Angeles tomorrow (September 28) to apply for resident status.
