Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a senior student in Electrical & Electronics Engineering(EE) Department at Bogazici University(BU) (Istanbul). My major is Communication Systems & Signal Processing . Turkish is my mother tongue and I am proficient in English. Besides, I am intermediate in German. My interest areas are computer vision and machine learning and I have background in digital signal processing and digital image processing. Currently, I am a member of Perceptual Intelligence Lab -Statistical Inference Group at Department of Computer Engineering in Bogazici University. My research topic is graphical models and inference.

I have given great importance to my projects and I worked on many projects especially in the field software development. Apart from these projects, I was a member of the Aerial Vision Project (AVP) team in my department for 2 years. AVP was a remote presence robotics project and has 3 steps. Firstly, a remote presence quadrator system would be developed and then 3D image system was planned to be added. Finally, autonomous flight and artificial intelligence would be achieved. Another point what we wanted to add to the project was that differentiating people via image processing. Thanks to this project, I improved my awareness about unmanned aerial vehicles. I practised my theoretical knowledge. However, the most important contribution of this project to me was working on a multidisciplinary project environment. Besides my academic life, I was a guitar player and was a member of Bogazici University Music Club between 2008 and 2011. In Music Club I was part of the technical committee which provides technical services during the concerts.

I had two successful summer internships at Bosch Corporate Research in Germany in 2011 and 2012. In my first internship, I worked on a mobile technology project as a Software Engineering Intern. The topic was correlation of accelerometer signals obtained from synchronous sensor motion. I mainly succeeded three tasks: Development of accelerometer sensor signal acquisition in JAVA for Android based mobile phone, development of simple online signal processing functions in JAVA for Android based mobile phone, prototyping of signal filtering and correlation strategies in Matlab. In my second internship, I worked as a Computer Vision Software Engineering Intern. My research topic was concept and implementation of an adaptive, anisotropic, 2-dimensional filter as preprocessing for the correction of fish-eye distorted images, considering later realization in hardware on a FPGA. My primary duties included: Conceptual design of an adaptive, anisotropic 2D filter as preprocessing step for omnicam unwrapping. Implementation of the omnicam unwrapping and various filter types for comparison. Proof of concept based on real images and self-made artificial test patterns. Documentation and final presentation. The summer internships at Robert Bosch GmbH were amazing experiences for me. I worked in an international atmosphere in abroad for more than six months. In my first internship, I learned Java and Android OS while in my second internship i practiced my Signal Processing knowledge via Digital Image Processing.

In wintersemester 2011-2012 I was an exchange student in Technical University of Munich, Germany. Following my graduation from BUEE, I am planning to work in the field of Research and Development in a leading research oriented company. Thus, I aim to join a leading research oriented company as an agile mind. I believe that my strong analytical capabilities and my interpersonal skills should provide me the required tools. Moreover, I have strong interest in Machine Learning with a background in Signal Processing and Image Processing. I have also proven my success by ranking 18th out of 1.7 Million candidates in national university entrance exam, which is very important in Turkish education system. Furthermore, I gained a significant research experience via two summer internships in Germany.
